|Recommended: YesFantastic service — Every time we encounter a problem, the apartment will help us solve it, and I am very satisfied with the result
|Recommended: YesCompact confront living — I would say living in Henry Brown apartments carries all the confront of home.
|Recommended: YesLove these apartments - I'm in a remodeled unit, so my appliances are newer, and light fixtures are very modern. The floorplan is open and doesn't feel cramped despite the low square-footage. I enjoy the concrete construction very Berlin in the 80's and the huge balcony. Location is A , given that the Capitol is just a few blocks away and East-facing units have a great view of both Lake Mendota and the Capitol . Only downsides are that noise can be a bit of a problem, and parking is a bit expensive which is a given downtown – I have a cheaper space off the isthmus . Laundry gym are definitely perks. Would totally recommend at this price point - a lot of my coworkers are living in run-down houses with roommates for the same price I pay to live alone in a very comfortable HG studio.
|Recommended: YesBest staff members but my room had more to improve — The staff members are always incredibly helpful, kind, and friendly, and I was touched by how nice they were So overall, I am satisfied with the apartment, but when I first arrived, my room had a hole on the wall and the bathroom door is damaged. The hole was fixed in a timely manner, which I appreciate a lot, but the construction created a lot of mess so the cleaning took quite a while, and it was stressful to have men in my small room for a few hours. I feel that fixing the damaged door would be another headache, so I have decided to just leave it as it is. I just wish that the damages made by previous renters are fixed before I came in.
|Recommended: NoOlder than pictures would make you believe, many move in issues — plumbing, blinds, futon not in move in condition. needed to get internet from a third party supplier. room is a good size. responsive on the phone, but we will see about follow-through.
|Recommended: YesQuite old but that's ok — The room was old and the worst thing is that I can hear some noises from neighbors. But the facilities is good.
|Recommended: YesReview of my time here — Henry Gilman has been an overall good apartment complex. Fixtures and amenities all function well and maintenance always comes in a timely fashion if things need to get done. Overall a good place to live. Downsides my room is on the back-side of the building close to Gilman St., and the traffic coming from the road is very loud, especially at night. People street race down the road all the time and this has nothing to do with the apartment itself but rather the surrounding area. Elevators could also benefit from more frequent cleaning they can get kinda gross.
|Recommended: YesHelpful Staff Great place to live — I moved into a studio apartment and was blown away by all the help and information received from staff. It is a great place to live with a ton of amenities
|Recommended: YesVery Nice — Well maintained older apartment building with a great management team , easy access to staff, maintenance , and any problems that should arise. I was very skeptical of a Madison apartment building......but this has been a very positive experience...highly recommend.
|Recommended: YesGreat Studio Spaces and Amenities — The studio apartments are perfectly designed to maximize the space. Inside, the kitchen and main room feel completely separate. Downstairs, the study room is equipped with printers, desktops and lots of tables. My favorite part is the gym and workout space The only thing I would add to the gym is a bench press. I also enjoy being able to use a key fob to get into the building - it adds a sense of security.
|Recommended: YesNice quiet apartment complex with underrated amenities — Very quiet apartment with nice views
|Recommended: YesGreat place to live honestly. Great for students, full-time workers, and retirees — I have lived here for about a month and so far I have no complaints. My contemporary studio apartment on the 3rd floor was beautiful. The A C is perfect and the balcony has a roof covering so you can chill out there and never get wet mind you it's pretty spacious as well. Naturally, bugs will get in if you leave the screen and sliding doors open on the balcony so keep some Raid. You can see mail trucks come and go if you're like me and lack patience when you order things from Amazon. Walls are good and thick and the balcony door so you won't have to deal with loud neighbors. Some people smoke in the building, but I can smell nothing when I walk in my apartment and close the door. The gym is perfect for a morning session and we are right next to the lake if you enjoy running or biking outside. So far the office and maintenance staff have been extremely friendly and accomodating. This place is in such a great location that parking can be a little tiny bit difficult sometimes, but at most you'll have to park one block away on Carroll. There are so many street parking and you can get a residential parking permit with the city of madison for about 42 year if you want to save on a parking spot.
|Recommended: YesSeems like a fine place to make a home — It was pretty hassle free to rent here and, so far, the customer service has been pretty good. The room had a few maintenance problems when I arrived, but nothing too hard to deal with. The quality of the rooms are pretty average, a little dented and dirty, but nothing too bad. The area is a good one, especially for students. The noise level is average. Overall fine so far.
|Recommended: YesIt's Fine — This place is fine, though it wasn't at all like the pictures. Lots of damage even in a contemporary unit, and several things that don't work. Overall an okay place, though I expected more for the cost.
